Question
Nurse Red: I noticed on you web site you list the services of a Medical Review Officer. My question is what guidelines does the MRO go by to determine if a drug test is neg or pos. Look at Psycho's post & my quote & you might be able to tell what we want to know. Are the guidelines an MRO goes by available on the Internet?
Example: I have a scrip for Vicidon. I know I can't drive & take this medicine at the same time. I arrive home from work at 12:20 AM & take the prescribed dosage. I take no more medication before my starting time of 3:30 PM. is there an enough medicine left in my system to test positive? or am I under the limit of the guidelines to result in a false test? You input to these questions are most appreciated. Thank You.
Answer
Under the drug testing guidelines you are reported as a negative even thought you test positive for Vicodin IF you have a legit Rx to back it up.
Here's the other side of that coin tho....You are medically unfit to drive under the regulations for medical certification. In other words...You are temporarily disqualified from driving (or should be) while on this medication.
Hope this answers your ???
