I recently developed a horrible dry hacking cough that keeps me up all night. My doctor told me it was due to the medication I am taking for my blood pressure. (prinivil) Is there anything I can do to stop the cough or make it go away sooner? I have stopped the meds as advised by my doctor but if I don't sleep soon I'm gonna be in very sad shape. This is sooo frustrating as I stopped smoking on Thanksgiving day and expected to feel better not worse. Thanks

Try propping yourself up on some pillows to sleep.
Have you tried a cough suppressant just before bedtime?
It may also be a reaction to quitting smoking. If it does not subside soon, I would go back to the Dr.
