Question
Is therre a possibility of the rear end getting sore from sitting on it too long? I work as a security guard and I had this happen to me. It actuallly was the right cheek bone. The doctor said it is arthritis. I had an mri and everything appeared okay on that. It became very sore. It's better now but I don't sit as much at work. I was thinking about going into trucking but now I am having second thoughts. Is this medical problem something you hear a lot about in trucking circles?
Answer
I broke my tailbone back around the beginning of '99, and it still hurts to this day when I sit for long periods. They did a "bone scan" on it around 1 year later and "found nothing . If you have ever fallen on it before, you could have fractured, then healed it along the way and didn't know it, which could be a possible reason it hurts. Another reason could also be the fact that truck seats and other seats for certain workers aren't of the best quality.

Answer
it could also be a circulation problem, or simply bruising from the type of chair you are sitting on, or the way you are sitting on it. (BTW are you sitting on a wallet all day long?)
A cushion may help, also adjusting the height of the chair may help. If you have anything in your back pocket remove it. Also try to get up and move around a few time an hour if possible. If not just stretching your legs out, moving them around under the desk etc can help circulate more blood through the lower part of your body. Also tightening and relaxing your butt muscles several times in a row every hour can help.
I have a name not a number. I am not cheap but I am resonable.
Answer
Just about covers everything I would have said.
