alternative treatment

Question
am having real good results using DMSO to treat gout. my parents have used it for years very sparingly. and before you say "placebo effect", our vet has been using it for decades, and i'm sure horses don't get placebo effect on medications. i would advise anyone thinking of using it to study the controversy around it first. after all, it IS an industrial solvent....
the brand i use comes in a "roll-on" type container, which makes applying it to my knees much easier. health food stores tend to carry it.
but again, it is not an FDA approved item.

Answer
I have racehorses, and use DMSO regularly on them. Its pretty wonderful stuff. I believe there is some concern about (if I remember correctly) damage to liver with longterm use. Something else worth trying is Thermoflo socks. It is an incredible product (has ceramics built into the cloth, and aids blood flow.
