Answer
You are refferring to being in a drug testing consortium. You can find info at our website and a form to fill out and e-mail to us if you would like to join.
But briefly, here is how it works. You, as an independent O/O or small company owner registers your truck or fleet with us. We get info on all your drivers and enter them intoa computer database with other O/O and smal companies. On a regular basis, we have the computer run a selection of your group for drug/alcohol testing. We notify the selected drivers and they must present to the designated collection site for testing.
We have no control over who is selected and who isn't. 50% of the group will be tested over the course of the year for drugs and 10% will be tested for alcohol. Each time your name goes back in the pool, so you MAY be selected more than once in a year.
The results come to our office for review and recorded in the database.
At the end of each year, you are provided with the required records to maintain in your files in the event that the DOT requests them.
Go to www.Truck.net/abms then scroll down to the bottom and click on consortium info.
If you have any further questions, just ask.
