Question
Mike (or Whom ever),
If a driver has very high blood pressure. (That has no history of it in the past.) And because he senses that something isn’t right health wise and starts monitoring it. Then finds out that it is staying high!!! Yet refuses to go to a doctor, yet he tells enough people that his safety Department finds out!
1. What is this driver’s responsibly?
2. What is the Carriers responsibly, since they now know?
Also, this driver drinks a lot lately, is fighting a lot with his wife, and has been constantly screwed over by a fellow driver for a over year now, but just keeps it in and says nothing. (Even though he’s tells a few drivers that he’s getting “pis$ed” at this driver!) Also, he seems to go on and on with little sleep!
Oh and another thing, this driver turns into “A man on a mission” when he gets behind the wheel of a truck!!
Safety Department also knows about his lifestyle!
Thanks
IRR
Answer
Man not a very smart safety dept.I would think they would at least make him take a physical to know for sure.I am sure there is a serious responsibility issue here.

Yall check with your doctors and Nurse Red first- but - in my doctors office, we use the following combinations of supplements to help bring blood pressure down:
Fish Oil Capsules
Flax Oil Capsules
Magnesium Glycinate
Folic Acid
1 baby aspirin
My blood pressure was 120/80 - which, technically is not high, but- there is some research which is starting to show that a person that has blood pressure at 120/80, a large waistline (over 41 inches for a man, 35 for a woman), and high triglycerides and cholesterol/ LDL's - is already doing damage to themselves at this lowerer blood pressure. So- I started these supplements, twice a day - with meals, and my blood pressure went down to 96 over 60. It also worked for my husband.
Stay safe!
Answer
The only thing the aspirin does is keep the blood thinned out so that it won't clot and cause a heart attack or stroke. It certainly doesn't reduce blood pressure. Eating proper foods and exercise however will help CONTROL blood pressure.

Answer
Pipeman - you are correct, proper diet and exercise will help reduce blood pressure, however, aspirin does indeed help too. Thinner blood won't take as much "pressure" to circulate.

Have had my husband on Texasrd suggestions (fishoil, flax oil, Magnesium, folic acid and baby aspirin (see her posting) for about 2 weeks now. Am astounded at the improvement. Usually on getting up BP was around 160/ll0 (way too high). The last 3 days it has been l35/70!! He was going to have to go on medication if it remained high!

What are the recommended dosages for these supplements?
Answer
Hey Firewalker-
Again, don't forget to check with your doctor first- but we use:
1000mg of Fish Oil Caps
1000mg Flax Seed Oil Caps
81mg baby aspirin (like a St. Joseph's aspirin)
200 mg magnesium
800 mcg folic acid - but you could take more, I think 400 and 800mcg is the most common amounts found in the grocery stores. My doctor actually gives clients 15mg folic acid, but you would not be able to find that amount in a store.
Hope this helps- here's to everyone's good health!

Have been home monitoring Grants BP for about a month. I take it L arm. Yesterday he had to go for a WCB evaluation and the guy took it on both arms. The right arm was considerably lower (20 degrees). When we got home I did both arms and again this morning with same results. He had major surgery on left shoulder and wonder if that could cause the difference?

The first reading was 150/90 borderline.
The doc came in and we talked and then she had me sit in a chair instead of the table with my back to the wall. Told me to breath thru my nose, one nostril at a time and to alternate. Came back in 2 minutes and it was 130/80. NOt a remedy but it did bring it down.

Answer
None of it had anything to do with your blood pressure. The Doc simply took your mind off everything but the breathing.
But, HEY! Whatever works..........
Very often, we have someone with a mildly high reading. we will have them lie down and relax awhile, sit in the reception area and read a magazine or the joke wall. It works ALMOST every time. --> --> -->
