Hi everyone, I just wanted to post a bug _thank you_ for all your help and insight. If you recall, I was the one posting/asking about truck stop advice awhile back(looking for busy ones) and other health info here and at the roundtable. As I had explained then, I'm a med student from a medical school in NYC doing a study on access to healthcare among over-the-road drivers(looking at problems drivers have getting healthcare, the 1st time anyone has done a study on this).
Thanks to your help, I made it about 7300 miles over 4 weeks(sure thats not much for y'all) to 25 states or so and just as many truck stops(Petros, Pilots, Flying Js, TAs, Iowa-80, Bosselmans, Sapp Bros etc etc). 525 drivers filled out the anonymous surveys I was handing out(maybe some of you?), I met many many really nice, good people and heard all sorts of stories. This month-long journey into the world of over-the-road trucking was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had.
Hopefully we'll have the data entered soon, and are working on publishing the study, in an effort to help you all out there and to make the medical community aware of the problems you encounter when you need healthcare. None of this would have been possible without your own Nurse Red on here, she really helped me out in the beginning, answering tons of my little questions when we were still figuring things out.

i wish i did make it down there, i heard _alot_ of stories about that TA in Jessup while I was on the road, but logistically, I couldn't make it there, closest I got was Carlisle PA. But hey, I'm on the east coast for a bunch more yrs, next time I get anywhere close to D.C. or Baltimore I'll be sure to stop by and say hello. I'll definately send you a copy when we finally get the data analyzed and a paper written...
