Is a blood test part of the DOT physical?
Answer
Not routinely. But if something in the exam or your medical history indicates the need for further evaluation, one may be required.
For instance, let's say that your urine sample tested high for glucose content. The examining physician may not qualify you until you have had a lab test done to determine your fasting blood sugar level.
