Blood test questions

Question
I went in earlier this month for an appt. with my doctor. He's put me on a new Rx and decided to run a full panel of bloodtests to make sure my liver is doing good now and will continue to monitor it while on this Rx.
Glucose reading comes back at 110 and the nurse says that anything over 109 is something to be alarmed about. Am I misunderstanding that to get an accurate reading on the glucose and Cholesterol test one should be fasting?
Thanks in advance

Answer
Thanks Nurse Red! I will call this morning and reschedule my next appt. so it's earlier and I will be fasting.
I thought I had remembered a few things correctly from taking Medical Assisting
