Question
Here's an interesting questiion.
Had a co worker (non transportation) relate a "humorous" story about mistaking his wives valium for his blood pressure pills. He began wondering when he felt drowsy and "spacey" an hour or so later. Besides a good chuckle and an admonision to "put your glasses on next time", he suffered no ill effects from his adventure.
If he were a driver, and did this, how could he properly deal with a situation such as this???
Answer
Get it documented by going to your doctor. I imagine you would also have to take yourself oput of service. Your doctor would be able to tell you how long it would be in your system. Sorry just shooting from the hip, I don't have my rule book with me. If you relied on luck and got tested I don't think your story would keep you out of trouble.
Answer
Pretty simple answer, huh?
But...... If this were something like Codiene which will pop as an opiate, that would be a different story and I doubt the MRO would buy it.
Having your Dr. write you a note would count for nothing. WHY? Because he didn't prescribe it for YOU! He can not document that you did something that he truly has no clue about, nor would he
( I hope!)
