Pre-employment drug test and vicodan

Question
I will be going to orientation next week and taking my drug test on Wed. I had dental work done last week and was given a prescription for vicodan. How long will that stay in my system and will it even matter?
I have seen what you have posted about the 5 categories that are tested for on a DOT drug test but I am not sure what category vicodan falls under (if any.) Can you also answer the same question concerning Tylenol 3?
Thank you very much.

Answer
OPIATES.
How long they stay in your system varies slightly, but should be gone in 5 days.
What you need to realize is that even tho you have a prescrition and a legal explanation for a positive drug screen, these medications will disqualify you for driving until you are off of them and test negative.

Answer
Thank you for your answer. It would be very embarrassing to flunk a drug test. I assumed that because I had a legal prescription, it wouldn't matter if it showed up.
I think I will postpone orientation until next week. Better safe than sorry!
