Is there anything in DOT regs about the use of antidepressants (specifically, Paxil) to control depression and operating a truck? Would this be a disqualification in passing the DOT physical?
Answer
As long as the prescribing physician will provide you with a written statement indicating that neither the condition nor the medication will affect your ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle, you should have no problems.
This medication will not show up on a DOT drug screen either.
