Blood pressure & Tiredness..........

Question
Nurse Red,
Back to the blood pressure issue. I seem to remember from reading somewhere that low blood pressure can make a person feel tired when they really shouldn’t be. Yesterday, I felt unusually sluggish. At the time, my blood pressure was 90 over 57. My question is, can a reading like that cause the tiredness, or does it have to be even lower. My doc put me on 10 mg of Prinivil about a year ago. But since then, I have lost 15 pounds and started walking again. Can my activity and weight loss have caused these occasional "low" blood pressure readings?
Thanks for all your previous help.
Charles Cox

Answer
is dizziness and fainting. But it is entirely possible for low B/P and slow pulse rate in combination could cause general malaise (Fancy medical term for "tired")
Everyone has a day here or there where they just feel.......LAZY. Rainy or snowy days usually do it for me...
And experiencing this on occaision is no big deal. However, if this is becoming more common for you or interfering with your daily life, then a closer look should be taken into what may be going on.
Diet, stress, lack of sleep, weather, etc. Any number of things may bring on an 'R and R' day.
I suggest that you keep a daily log of Blood pressures, maybe 2-3 times a day. During periods of low blood pressure, make a few notes as to how you were feeling at the time.
If you see a pattern developing, Please contact your physician about.
BTW, Congrats on the weight loss, and thank you for asking such interesting questions.
