Question
A short question on the DOT medical rules on high blood pressure.
At my last physical I was on medicine for high blood pressure. Since that time I have gone off of it, as well as lost 60 lbs., cut out all caffine and alcohol, and I now work out 4 times a week. My BP is now 118/76. My doctor is OK with the withdrawal of the meds as she feels the problem that caused the HBP is solved. But the question that the company doctor has is if I get a one or two year certification as I have a history of HBP, but am under control thru diet and exercise. (I do a USDOT physical, as our company is authorized in Canada and the US, and I am an American living here).
Opinions??
