Klonopin okay for truck driving?

Question
Hi im new and am going to be attending a driving school soon. I take klonopin(a benzodiazepne) for social anxiety. I was wondering if it would show up in the standard drug screens and if so is it acceptable for most companies/dot/schools? And if not, would anyone know how long it may take for it to be out of my system if I stop taking it?
Thank you.

Answer
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER stop taking a medication without consulting the prescribing physician!!!
This medication will not show up on a DOT drug screen. However, there are other drug screen panels that will show it. Some companies do the DOT drug screening and the other type as well.
The DOT drug screens which are Federally mandated test for THC (Marijuana) PCP, Cocaine, Amphetamines, and Opiates.
Other drug panels that are NOT mandated by the Feds look for valium, darvon, and medications that are prescribed by physicians but are still in the running for abuse and the ability to affect safe CMV operation.
Hope this answers your questions.

Answer
I understand there can be negative die effects if the drug is not stoped properly. And I, of course, would never discontinue a perscrption without the consent of my doctor.
Thanks.

Answer
