Seeing as the use (or misuse) of illegal drugs during service breaks is such a hot topic....
Can one get a DOT level drug test on ones own to make sure that any traces of prohibited substances are cleared from their systems before looking for work as a driver???
I would imagine this would be used, say if someone works in a non safety sensitive job and wants to return to trucking.
Any way to get one done and, more importantly, not have the results become public knowledge!!!

There are a couple of ways this can be done. If you come to our clinic you can have one of the instant tests done. It's a simple urine dip test. The kits that we use are the most like DOT testing methods, same cut off levels and drug panel. Of course to confirm a positive result, we must forward a sample on to a loab. The other option is to come in and have a NIDA 5 look-a-like panel done on a NON-FEDERAL form. If you are paying for the result, no one has access to it but you unless you provide us with explicit written permission.
