I've been slacking

Question
I haven't posted anything new and interesting in a long while. I'm in the mood, but out of ideas.
Got a question? Been wondering how to do something?
First post wins.
(And I'll just hope like hell I know the answer or can find it.)
Ummmmmm......it DOES have to be about websites, OK?

Answer
I'm game.
What's YOUR personal definition of a 'webmaster'?
What all does it include?

Answer
I haven't posted anything new and interesting in a long while. Not so, Jayne, I think all your posts are interesting. I may not understand a word you say but it's still interesting and I usually learn something new that I can use.
Joan

Answer
Joan, thank you. That's a flattering compliment.
Webmaster.
In the strictest sense, it's the person in charge of the website. Like postmaster to post office. I 've never heard anyone describe themself as a webmaster, though. Sounds kinda pretentious, doesn't it?
I don't think of myself as a webmaster--other than in the sense that I'm the one who answers the email sent to my domain. I think of myself as a web designer. Or, if you happen to be reading Job Classifieds, as I was yesterday, then I'm a Systems Analyst/Programmer for Web Applications.
If using "webmaster" in the sense of a one-person business with a website, then I'd think it would have to be a person with general knowledge in many areas: web pages, database integration, SSIs, network administration, commercial art, salesmanship and marketing. Plus they'd need specific knowledge of the pieces that they use.
I don't know of any current professional certifications for "Webmaster," which is interesting in it's own way. A few years ago, Microsoft had a certification called MCSE+I which was a Certifited Systems Engineer with a specilization in Internet. They've scrapped that, though. Probably because EVERY computer professional has to know about web design, in the same way that they know about office applications. It's just that common. Now the only specilizations offered for a MCSE cert is Exchange (email) and Security.
I think a webmaster is what you want it to be. However, if someone, when asked what they did for a living in a room full of geeks, proclaimed themselves a Webmaster, the room would fall over laughing.
Hmmm......guess I have MS certifications on the brain today. I'm picking up a MCT cert this next year and I'm really excited about it (especially since my company's springing for the $400 annual fee.....yes!).

Answer
I installed a "wiki" script on my website the other day... There's a whole slew of them out there to choose from and I selected one that's not too complicated and can easily be spidered by the search engines, but it uses flat database files, so it may not "scale" that well, but I figired it would be a good place to start.
Anyway, once I become a bit more familiar with it, I wonder if anyone here might like to help tweak the look, and then the structure of it...
ET's Twiki-wiki

Answer
Never mind, I found another site that deals directly with tweaking the script.
Still, there might be a few here-nians interested in taking a look at wikis...
