If only my website looked like this

Question
What's your favorite website? The one that makes you green with envy because the designer did it so well!

A long favorite of mine has been http://www.avon.com/
The designer did such a great job of putting the information out there without making it look cluttered. There are 3-4 links to shopping, links to info about the company, links to the privacy policy and TOU, investors, jobs, search engine, even the latest TV commercial...all without crowding.
The color bands and photo keep it from looking bland, plus sets the mood for the season and current marketing campaign.
I also like that it's not boxy. Lots of curves, lots of shapes for your eyes to follow and it's not straight up-and-down. The information flows side-to-side, which is different enough to give it polish.
Think, too, how easy it is to give it a fresh look every month. Change the colors and photo. Update a link or two. It's a brand-new page.

So, give it up. What's the place you look at and think "If only I could do that"?

Answer
Vollers Corset Company/
This is about the slickest site that I've seen and it does truly make me green with envy. Any ideas about how it was done?

Answer
the vollers site was done with macromedia
which opens a lot of opportunities

Answer
Yep. Macromedia Flash is great stuff. Take a look at their web page: www.macromedia.com
Quite an investment and a very high learning curve. If you just want to play a bit, they do have 30-day trials on most of their stuff.

Answer
Here's another great website: http://www.websiteawards.com/If you want to see what's hot, what the big boys are doing with websites, that's the place to look. Some really great stuff there.

Answer
This site was off of a link on the Corset site...real cool..
http://www.beckett.de/

Answer
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I wanna do macromedia flash!
I think I downloaded the trial once. didn't get a chance to work with it though... lol
Have you ever played with it Jayne?
btw... that map thing can easily be done with rollovers too I would think.

Answer
I've played with the trial once or twice. Never had a customer willing to shell out the $$$$ for the full version, though. I can only wish.

Answer
I like this one. http://www.melaleuca.com nice clean lines in my opinion.

Answer
I like that one a lot. Nice use of space. Nice art, but not too much. A little glitz, but not overwhelming. Some nice curved lines to get away from the boxy look. Really good website.
