Domain Name

Question
Hi,
About a year ago I purchased www.clickshouse.com from www.cheap-domainregistration.com. If you go to www.clickshouse.com you will see in the address bar http://students.fccj.org/~cliccj/index.html. This is the server name I have my page parked at (I know that there is no page there right now). The server is some we space I have at a community college server. Anyways, I'm going to purchase another domain to setup an online store and was wondering what service I need so that when you punch in www.clickshouse.com and you go to the site the address bar shows www.clickshouse.com and not the actual server name? I know there is a mask I can use but, it is only good on the index page. If you go to another page in the site, you will see the server address?
This may be a very basic question with a simple answer... I'm not familiar with this subject.
Thanks

Answer
I believe it is called domain cloaking.

Why not put a page up even it is just as a test? I think then you will see your domain name as you would like.
All of my pages on my websites work that way. I have never seen a server name, and have moved the page from different servers.

Yup yup, domain cloaking, aka domain forwarding, aka URL forwarding, which is what cheap-domain is calling it. Their home page says you get free URL forwarding with your account, so you probably have it available, you just need to log into your account there and figure how to work it.

I put my webpage back up for S & G's. I took it down because it is so out of date. I guess the reason for my post is I don't want to make the same mistake I made with this page, with my next site I want to put together. Can anyone recommend a company to host a webpage that would be used for some lightweight selling (just a place to point some of my ebay customers to for some side selling)?

You can move your domain hosting from cheap-domainregistration. What you really need to decide is whether or not you are willing to pay for that hosting. If so, you can get lots of other features with that hosting, such as pop mailboxes, etc. There are multiple threads on this topic in the ebay business section I think. You might be able to find them by searching the word 'domain'
I pay $15/mo for my site. I think you can get good hosting for $5 to $9 / month. It's been quite a while since I moved my site, so I'm not up on all the details and particulars...

Clicks Collectibles:
Have you gotten your new domain name/web space?
The reason that your browser was displaying the actual server location info was that your domain name is/was parked at cheap-domainregistration's server and they forward requests to the other location.
You could probably log into your account at cheap-domainregistration and select an option to display your domain name or whatever you want to show in the browser address bar. Most URL forwarding services offer the option.
If you haven't arranged for a new hosting account yet I can offer you a basic package for as little as $50.00 per year. Questions? Comments? Reply here or email me.

Is it possible the college doesn't allow your personal domain name to be used?
You will need to ask them for the correct DNS if they allow it, and if you continue to use the space they provide.
Once you have decided which hosting provider you will use, you need to update the name server information (DNS) on Cheap-DomainRegistration to the name servers given to you by your college or new web host.
