Question
I am hoping to have my own website. My host server is www.prolinkhosting.com and they have AgoraCart for a shopping cart. I am totally lost (even after looking at their site http://www.agoracart.com/ )
Is it always difficult to set up a shopping cart?
Any help, suggestions appriciated!

Answer
Hello, Christel!
Unfortunately, I know very little (nothing) about AgoraCart.
I use Mal's (http://www.mals-e.com/home.php) which is ultra easy to use - and FREE!
Answer
Maybe there's another version out now, but I installed it on a couple sites some time ago to test it out. Getting it set up to where it looks presentable will take some time, modifying the HTML templates...
There's a checkout module that interfaces with Paypal for free, as well as other payment gateways for regular credit card processing - which cost $$ to maintain, etc.
If you're willing to use a Windows based solution, I ran across a more polished and feature rich package from one of the CC processors up in Canada... I'd have to do some digging to locate the info on it again... or you might do a search for "Shopping Cart Credit Card Processing Canada" and you might find it. One processor that I looked into some time ago was charge.com but I don't recall if that's the one that had the shopping cart or not.
Some of your hosting companies may have agora cart or something comparable already set up, easing the basic installation... I'd avoid any shopping cart that puts a limit on how many products you can present, and I'd also look for one that supports online posting of inventory and uploading data from a spreadsheet or database file, as well as track site traffic and inventory levels.
