Question
Welcome to the Webmaster General Forum...
There's still a lot of work to get the forums in this category, Ebusiness Webmaster, setup.
I'll be posting more detailed information about the charter of this forum and the other forums in this new category very soon. Meanwhile, have fun and take charge. :)

I will start this new board. First let me tell I'm not an expert. These are things I have seen work or done them myself. I currently have 3 websites and keep one up for a friend. Started all this in 1998. I use my local ISP for all 4 sites. I first started with basic html and using storage from my ISP. This is the cheapest way to go because my ISP provided free storage as part of my dial-up service.
Ok the first thing I want to touch on is the name of your site if you are going to get your own dotcom. Lets say you are going to sell "widgets". First we are all proud to have our own name so we want something like suziesjunkyard.com only problem with that is no one searches for suzies. Yes the search engines factor in your url if possible. So for our example I would at least name the site suzieswidgets.com. Now this is not to say that suziesjunkyard won't get a good google rank but suzieswidgets.com would have a slight advantage. Now you have to remember that on Google you may be up against 500,000 sites or more depending on what you are selling. So every little advantage you can get helps.

Jim,
I can't seem to get the profile stuff to work in either Netscape 6 or IE (AuctionTamer template). I figured out that I could look at the profile with the dropdown menus (only), but the javascript says it's void () w/IE.
I can reply with the quick reply, but otherwise I seem to be outta the loop...
