2,000k in 6 pages, too big?

Question
i hear you laughing, saying "yeh, too big is right, dope!"
i have 200k in mind for the pages, the rule is what- 100k, thats 20 pages, compaired to my 6 pages now, seems crazy.
heres the pages im working on:
www.imosh.com/NECKLACES.htm - www.imosh.com/NECKLACES6.htm
(at the moment, the above pages are not 2,000k, but i just added more
items, and i haven't uploaded them yet)
-- is it really that bad to have massive pages?

Answer
Depends.
You may loose many dial-up/slow connection potential buyers.
This will give you an idea of your load results for page #1 you indicate - necklaces:

Answer
FWIW - Only about 15% of our visitors are on dial-up, anyhow.

Answer
Seems I read somewhere that Google spider only reads first 100k on one page. Not real sure about this.

Answer
i think its 100 links for spiders, spiders don't care about pictures.

Answer
I'm on DSL, and the pages loaded quickly.
If you're concerned about losing buyers, why not make more (smaller) pages than just a few (larger) pages?
Having a few extra (optimized) pages WON'T hurt your site, and may in fact help it - with the added benefit of 'slow loaders' may be sticking around a bit for the entire page to load.

Answer
I'm on DSL too, the pages didn't take too long for me. A bit of hesitation on some of the pics, but not enough that I wouldn't have waited the couple of seconds. But the scroll was pretty long, especially if you're still going to be adding more to it.
I would consider adding a couple of pages to make them shorter.
Kathleen, cool link!

i like what i did, the navigation from 1-10 took some thinking, but
i think it looks/works good.

Answer
imosh, great job. The scrolling is a lot better and not too long at all, and I love the navigation bars on the top AND the bottom.
