Question
I just started a AdWords campaign for the first time today.
I feel like there are a gazillion options.
I have a few questions about Adwords:
- Is there any way to tell what websites your impressions are coming from?
- My ad is 1st on google but doesn't show up on aol.com or askjeeves.com.
...If it's first on google.com shouldn't it also be first on Google's network?
Can anyone recommend a good tutorial or book with screen shots?
Thanks for any help in advance.
Answer
Grumpy my first recommendation is to go slow and sorta feel your way around. Start with 3 word phrases or 2 words never one word. For example you are selling "widgets" then worst case would be "widgets" best case would be "skinny red widgets" and "red widgets" would be ok. You are looking for quality clicks (read sales) not just clicks. When I started I was constantly (daily) tweaking. Don't always go for top bid. I just go for top 5 to stay within my budget. Oh and don't forget misspellings. For example I sell cobalt glass, you would be surprised how many people search for "cobolt" and those clicks only cost me .05 vs .20 for "cobalt".
to answer your questions
1. no
2. not necessarily but really just worry about Google the hits from those other sites are minor.
If you have more questions just ask away someone here will be glad to provide answers.
