Question
i will be working on our wholesale website soon, but i want some pages accessible, and some password protected.
is there a "password for dummies" website, i really want a simple system, my brain can't handle much more learning.
Answer
My own (websites) host offers the ability to password protect pages - on one, or many, with all the same, or individual passwords.
I'll assume that you've already checked with your host to determine if they offer this service.
I'm on my way out this morning, but I'll check as soon as I return. In the meantime, this list from Google should get you started:

Here's a link to what looks to be a fairly straight forward password generator program. I haven't used it but it is one of the ones I'm considering for my next project.

It looks quite easy to use (don't they all!) and they do have an online tutorial.

Let me ask you this.. the password protected pages.. are they just for you? IF so, there's real easy ways to do this if you run your website on Lynux with Apache..

Answer
what i want to do is have some pages anyone can access, but some (the ones with wholesale prices)
password protected. that way only approved people can see 'em.
Answer
ok.. then you want something that will enable you to 'manage' those users that have access... Aside from a huge integrated application, of which there are many, you could go with something rather simple.. Would you want the ability to charge (like via paypal) to access those pages? (or is that something you may want to add later?)

Answer
nope, we're just trying to keep the pages private.
my first idea for the password section, is to make it the same user name/password for all. i believe is the simplest method.
