GOOD SHOW!
Now don't slack off getting the backlinks, promoting, etc.
It's my belief that maintaining a good SER is an endless task.

Pcgoddess It started in this thread . I didn't intend to make this to exclude non-members but more to give the members something in return for their membership. It has expanded to include Google Adwords and Google Adsense. As I said in my post I feel if you try my methods it will more than pay for your membership.

Answer
yes some of it started there with the classes.
I just found here from another board and started asking questions.
I read all the threads I could about websites even the old threads.
I also looked at other websites. and forums and boards.
I looked at others websites that sell simmaler things that I do.
I also have had help with my adcopy and pictures from boardies.
and a boardie here helped me with recomendations on who to build my website with.
And where would I be without eBay.... not working as hard on my own site
This version of my website with the store has been live since about 04-22-05
I had another version that went live ohhh almost a year ago I think.
And I am determined to make this little company fly. This is my job I have no day job right now and I have a date in which I must provide income for my self or get a day job. Or at least provide proof that we will able to make a profit very soon.
If I get a day job because this fails I will not be able to work as hard on this company and I will have lost my chance to do what I love for a living.
I also have a partner who is working very hard to make this fly she is the best. she has almost finished a whole new line of jewelry for us and I saw it today it is fantatic. it is her job to create and mine to sell..
we each do a little of the others job and we love working together.
Answer
For the last two years, I have been working on a polymer clay and jewelry company. The market in Phoenix has been saturated with artisan jewelry that is not made well and sells too cheap. I teach in addition to sales, and that has helped.
Just this month, I opened an artist's loft in Scottsdale. Finding a venue where I can sell my art at a price I want has been tough. I am banking on this location and exposure to people that want to buy quality art at a reasonable price.
On top of that, I am offering digital photography and an auction listing service geared to the business art community here. So I think the moral of the story is that you need to be diversified so that one aspect can hopefully carry the slack.
I picked up an IT contract last year to make some extra money. What was gained from that job was a customer (A VP) that had a huge commission job for me, and made good friends with the boss who has been an excellent customer as well. Please don't think of the day job as a negative thing...YOU CAN STILL BE SUCCESSFUL PUSHING YOUR COMPANY WHILE WORKING. It can be a huge selling point...think of all the working women that have disposable income and would buy your jewelry. In all honesty, that job gave me the extra income that allowed me to do what I do now.
Promote yourself tirelessly...if you look at my website, you can view clips of me demonstrating polymer clay on a local TV station. There is no reason why you cannot talk about jewelry trends and show your work - I have every intention of doing it again. Its a free plug...just make a phone call!
I like your website...its a valuable tool. Use it to your advantage.
I wish you both all the best and good luck...if you are determined and make good sound decisions along with high quality work, you will make it just fine.

on little side market I have found is also with all the artisans more and more artists are needing more and more componits for their jewelry.
I just bought a polimer clay pendant from an artist and will buy a few more from him to create a line of jewelry to sell.
so if your jewelry may not sell you can still sell to the artists.
I love the tv idea.
Answer
You are absolutely correct and I make and sell alot of focal beads. If you haven't already done so, check out www.justbeads.com and there are some awesome polymer artists on there.
My problem now is that I need to make MORE jewelry! What a problem!!
