Website Critique

Question
I hope this is where I would put this. I was going to put it in the Community Room so I would get more imput but think this is where it shoud go.
I just started my own website and would like some feedback on it. Looking at some of the other websites of here'ns make me feel like mine is not to be taken seriously. Theirs are so much nicer.
Comments, questions, problems....

(I'm still stocking it so some catagories will be empty. I figured stock it first just in case someone wants to buy anything and then worry about final touches.)

Answer
Morning, Vikki-
Just a couple of things to get you started.
Your description should be a bit more detailed (as to what you sell) rather than Loonytoonsloot - which (to me) doesn't describe what you're selling.
Same with your meta tags.
For both, think and use 'keywords' - words people would use to find the items you're selling.
Try to incorporate those 'keywords' into your home page. Perhaps a 'blurb' describing the items (in general or specific terms) that you sell.
Trust me, I doubt ANYONE had a 'perfect' site first time out of the gate.
(Like I stated earlier, mine was a SEO (search engine optimization), HTML and 'load time' NIGHTMARE!! (It was baaaaad.)

Answer
I would like to add a quick note. Your site is built in frames if you have the option of creating your site not in frames I would convert it now before you get too much work in it. Google and other search engines DO NOT like framed sites.

Hi Vicky!
Several thoughts.
If you can figure out a way to NOT put your email address on your home page, you'll get a lot less spam (from robot harvesting of email addys). Best way is for a "contact us" link that takes customer to a form that is redirected to your email. Other ways (less spohisticated) exist, such as writing out vben1018 at aol.com (and instructions to change the "at" to *).
Product pages very slow to load with my cable modem (maybe the frames issue Mike mentions). Dial up customers will go away.
Best of luck!

Thanks for the replys... looks like I have some major work still to do. I have no idea how to do a webpage and saw the post about Prestostore and thought I would give them a try. Its really easy but that is because I don't have to do anything with codes. LOL I guess that is the downside. Thanks again... better get back to the drawing board.

Answer
Oh don't be afraid of that code. I'm sure one of us can help with any problems you may have.

Just my 2 pennies - looks somewhat bland. Can you dress it up a bit? Since you are selling Loonie Tunes items, perhaps using some pictures that convey the theme?
I think - for a first time, you are on the right track, just need to learn some tricks to pretty it up and make it the way you invision. Maybe go to some sites you like the layout, get some ideas, and sketch out how you might invision your site.
There are many ways to create tabs and that can help you with your page layout. Also, color scheme options - think Loonie Tunes again - cartoon colors. If you like Daffy - think black and orange, how about Granny with her purple dress and yellow Tweety Bird? Maybe grey can offset that - like Granny's hair.
