Looks like they've been in business in some form or other since 1999.
Two red flags for me: The company location is Kuwait and they are running a rented server from Rackspace.
Edited to add: I got the ICANN information from Google. The whosis came from a utility program called Query that can be downloaded at http://www.leeos.com/

Jayne,
I know why the company location puts up a red flag for you.
But why the rented server from Rackspace?
Is it mostly the location PLUS the rented server?
I would be more concerned if they weren't leasing from a company such as Rackspace.
Are they running their own servers? Then I'd have to question their security, backup power, alternate routing, etc.
I'm interested in your thoughts on the "rented server" statement.

Answer
The rented server sends up a red flag for me because it means they can fold their tent and be gone overnight--with my website. Also, with Rackspace the renter is responsible for configuring the server, installing updates, applying patches, etc. Not everyone can do that correctly.
Renting from Rackspace (or someplace like it) tells me it's most likely a one- or two-man operation. So you're back again to trusting that the person running the operation knows what they're doing as far as security and stability are concerned.
There's nothing wrong with renting a dedicated server, but setting up a reseller operation on one requires a bit of knowledge....*if* that's what they're doing.
There's nothing wrong with a reseller, either, but I'd want the company behind the reseller to be an established one. IMO--and it's only my opinion--I'd rather trust my website and business to a larger company running it's own server farm with a dedicated IT staff.
I didn't really dig far enough to see exactly what they're doing. Not worth the time. There are too many choices out there. Seeing what I did at first glance, I'd move on.
Answer
Ok, I see what you mean. You do have some valid points.
I was thinking in terms of someone who houses a server in their home (or a rented office)... I know of someone who does... and I wouldn't trust my website to a situation like that, no matter how inexpensive. My website goes down, I'm losing money!
Managing even a small business on your own server requires you either BE an expert IT person, or put one on your payroll! And the server should be leased from a reliable company like Rackspace where the environment is tightly controlled and the support is fanatical.
Like you said, there are so many choices out there.
