Question
Hey folks,
Please start sending me (PM/email) or posting in this thread any LINKS you think we should keep handy - online articles are great but they can be outdated really quickly so what I'm really looking for is sites that offer services / programs / features that are helpful with promoting and marketing your website, and that we can keep in a categorized list format -
example: Overture Keyword Selector Tool
input terms related to your site and this tool will return a list of searches with your keyword, and sorts them according to how many times they were searched on in the previous month.
*note, this is a Yahoo company, so the search results are probably based on Yahoo searches - but it's still a quick easy to use tool if you are stuck for some search terms / keywords for your site.
as well as sites that have tips / lists on the various marketing topics -
Basically anything you use regularly or that you think has made an impact on how you market your website would be great, THANKS!

Now THAT is cool. Thanks for the link! I can't wait to try some of the other links in this thread.
My website is coming along really SLOW... I need all the help I can get. I decided to scrap Adobe GoLive and learn HTML to build our site (for my husband's Fine Art Photography)... I'm actually finding it EASIER this way than learning another program to build the HTML for me. And this way, I figure I have a lot more control and can customize later any way I want!
SellersCircle, I have been using "HTML GOODIES" as a resource for building my site, and I agree, it's great!
I have an addition to the list: http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/ this is another great site for web design/HTML tips!!

Morning
Hi Jube333, glad you liked the Overture keyword tool, I've always thought it was neat too! Good for you taking the dive into learning HTML - it really will help you in the long run to at least know the basics, rather than just relying on a drag & drop or WYSIWYG editor/program. Be sure to visit the Website Design & Production forum (listed directly above this one), you'll find lots more info on actual page coding and design techniques.
And since there is already a resource page for HTML and page coding-specific links in there, I'll be leaving the HTML and page design links off of our list. So if something ya'll posted doesn't get included - it's not 'cause it wasn't a good idea!, just that it's most likely already covered in another forum.
You guys have a great, PRODUCTIVE day and a lovely weekend

Hi Gem,
I like this site for Keywords:
http://nichebot.com/
It takes the Overture concept a step further by showing you the number of searches for your keyword phrase alongside the number of pages with any of the kewords and the number of pages with the exact phrase and then gives you a ratio of searches to competitors.
It's helpful since it not only tells you which keywords are popular in searches but it also tells you if there is already a glut of sites using the same keywords. Plus you can click on the count to see the actual search in google so you can quickly see who your top competitors are for the various keywords.
