Hello there. How do I get started making a website?

Question
I want a website where I can sell my nonsport trading cards. What I'm wanting to set up is a website where the buyer can click on the item and be able to buy it. How would I start?

Answer
Start with planning.
1. Do you want a domain name? What should it be?
2. Do you want to 'do-it-yourself' or would you be happier with a canned site?
3. How many products do you want in your store?
4. How often would the products change?
5. How will you accept payment? PayPal? Credit Cards?
For general perusal, take a look at www.rubylane.com and www.tias.com.
If you think a shop like that is the best way to go, find one that fits with your stuff.
If you decide to build your own, the next step is to find a hosting company and decide if you need shopping cart software (there are some free ones as well as pay ones).
There's lots of things to consider. You can read through the threads and look at other people's websites. Lots of people have links in their sig lines, or there are some posts here asking people for critiques.

I just wanted to say I love the pic you use at FAS for your avatar.
I just recently started working on a new website which may be similar to what you're wanting to do. I posted it here a few days ago for a critique and have been working on it some more since.
