White letters on white

Question
Is it acceptable to use white lettering on a white background to add search engine friendly text at the top of a website page? My titles are jpegs and would not be picked up otherwise. To duplicate the graphic titles with text looks (is) redundant. I know about using white on white for keyword spamming and other illegitamate purposes, but I am talking about something different.
Thank you!

Answer
Don't do it. You will never get out of the sandbox that way

Answer
Just add alt atributes to your pictures.

Answer
White on white went out of style when stuffing meta tags with keyboards stopped working too. Instead of white on white, use those relevant keywords you want to include in your content. If you can write in-depth about your particular area include keywords while making your text flow at the same time.

Answer
Thanks everybody! I'm glad I checked first.

Also.. some search engines (like google) will see that you have 'white on white' and lock your site out.
In some testing I did with google Adsense, there system compared the foreground/background colors of the Adsense display, determined there was not enough contrast between the 2 colors and changed the foreground to black (even though my code said it should be another color..)
