Question
I keep running accross this retargeting.com and was wondering if anyone is familiar or uses it?
You can try if free for 30days, it is suppose to retarget your customers that come to your site with a banner ad. I can't quite figure out how they do it though, I certainly don't want to stalk potential customers or annoy them with popup ads,
I did sign up for the free 30 days and put the code on my hope page. Let me know what you think??

Hello,
There will be no visible difference to your site after the pixel code has been added. Now, when visitors go to your website and then go to sites like FoxNews.com, Sportsline.com, CBS, AllRecipes.com, Babyzone.com and MLB.com, that are part of our web site network, they will see the ads you uploaded to our servers while they browse through that particular site.
There are at least two things you can do to help Retargeting help you.
First, your web site needs to receive at least a couple hundred unique visitors per day. The fewer visitors you receive, the longer our service will take to 'ramp up.' That is, you will start seeing more and more ad impression stats until your hit the 10,000 per month limit as long as you achieve enough unique visitors.
The second thing is what you can do to increase the click-though ratio. It really helps to have a nice looking banner with a catchy message. You might even mention that the user should click back for a special or something you can offer your past visitors.
We do recommend that you try to get at least one banner of each of these sizes uploaded to the Retargeting.com site: 728 by 90 pixels; 300 by 250 pixels; 120 by 600 pixels. If you need help with the banner creation, searching Google for 'banner creation' can offer lots of leads.
You can see the Retargeting process in action by first visiting your web page (make sure cookies are turned on), then browse through http://www.foxnews.com/ (just one of the many publishers on our network).
Remember, Retargeting brings back previous visitors to your site. So, the more visitors your have, the better Retargeting works.
Visitors who have been to an e-commerce site in the past are eight times more likely to make a purchase at the site than are first-time visitors, according to new data by Web analytics firm WebSideStory. The data, aggregated from e-commerce sites that work with WebSideStory, revealed that repeat visitors had a conversion rate of 12.61 percent, compared to 1.55 percent for new visitors, in the first three months of the year.
