Question
The big day is almost here.
Whatcha doing about your ebay store?
Mines staying open.
I've been adding what I could while listings are still .02.
I'll roll over any store items Sunday/Monday to get the extra 3 weeks or so at .02.
I've been playing with some of my regular sellers......lowered my price somewhat, raised the shipping somewhat, so items are still the same price grand total, just broken down differently.
(This was partly due to the fee increase, partly because of checking out competitors prices/shipping).
I will be going thru & making some changes in prices/shipping. Nothing major, but enough to off set some of the increase.
We'll see how it goes as to what other changes need to be made.
Also moving some stock to my web site.
So, what are you doing?
Hazel
Answer
I think this thread encompasses your question, so I'll post the link to keep all the conversation together.
But, to answer your question, we're closing.
Answer
Well, I'll answer in this thread since I changed my mind since posting over there...lol.
I actually closed my ebay store completely. But I do plan on re-opening after I alter my listing templates (in my listing program).
I offer a lot of similar items - sometimes mutiple sets of the same exact type - and I'm looking at ways of combining these. Since they would be picked up by the same searches and keywords, I wouldn't be losing much exposure. My goal is to reduce my number of listings from around 500 down to around 100. I am also looking at increasing my cross-selling, and use "every possible trick in the book" to "legally" get people on to my website.
If my attempt fails, or ebay boots me, owell...
Answer
I dumped all of my items from my store (368) to eBay and when they end Sunday and Monday nights, I'll put them back in my eBay store at the same BIN and shipping price, but the next month, many of my items will be placed in my Coming Soon Websites. Higher priced items will stay in my eBay store and be put on my websites too.
Dumping my items from my store has brought me BIN sales on items that have been in my store at the same BIN price for ages and ages. Some of my items were selling as quick as I could list them during the two 10¢ listing days. I was sitting here wondering if eBay had hired a crew to show us that Core listings with Gallery and BIN was best. Yeah Right!

Mine is staying open too. Just finished adding another 20 or 25 items today and will probably dump a few $25+ items in tomorrow to beat the increase. Plus I went in and raised a BUNCH of prices AND some shipping fees too. Still well in line, but time to let handling charges carry some of the load that greedBay keeps passing along to the sellers.
Still am FAR from being pleased about the way this was handled, but have to stick it out.....even with the screwed up search, I have been making 3 times the sales out of the store that the slug auctions have been doing. Unless I see some measurable change next month, the "one shot at auction and then UP the price & off to the store" will remain the plan.

I've noticed increasingly over the past year that my store sales are making up MORE & MORE of my sales. I look on the sold page of my ebay & all I see are the little red doors down the page, with just a few yellow hammers.

Perhaps Fixed price is the way to go for you, instead of auction? If you feel comfortable setting a price for your items to sell in store, could you not apply that to all your listings? Just throwing out ideas, not sure what works for your business but it's a suggestion.

That's what I will be doing.
I'm keeping my store, and actually increasing the inventory by about 40%.
I did end my store listings a few days ago but only to restart them as 30 day (instead of GTC) onaccountof an indexing issue I read about.
I will stop running auctions and only run Fixed Price since they get the same search visibility as auction, and the insertion fee is the same.
Answer
all closed, not really because of the increase but because I am too busy and it is almost time for fall clean out.
I will probably re-open one out of 4
Answer
Removing 2100 items today. Leaving about 150 items. Working on the store set up instead. Off of feebay.
