FYI: Effective August 1, 2006, Amazon.com will change the variable closing fees and shipping credits for Books, Music, Video, DVD, Software and Video Game sales.

I only use media mail, so I'll not feel any change. I hope the bigger sellers who do expedited shipping DO raise their prices to compensate. Maybe I'll be able to move some books with a narrower profit margin.
I have no idea why my post has a thumbs down, I never select that stuff.

The squeeze is painful coming from Amazon and Ebay at the same time. Raising the prices seems to be the only way out. Or simply moving out to ecommerce FWIW...

So is Amazon going to pass any of this on to the buyers, or is it all the sellers that are going to get the shaft?

I don't see a way that they can pass it on to the buyer but I like the reverse thought.
