(the answer was posted by ionley)
"I turn polar bears white
and I will make you cry.
I make guys have to pee
and girls comb their hair.
I make celebrities look stupid
and normal people look like celebrities.
I turn pancakes brown
and make your champane bubble.
If you sqeeze me, I'll pop.
If you look at me, you'll pop.
Can you guess the riddle?"
TIME
I turn polar bears white
The time has come,
winter is here
and those yellow bears disappear.
and I will make you cry
The time has past
as man looks back with a sigh
and a tear in his eye.
I make guys have to pee
As time is held
boys cross their legs
but of course the toilet begs
and girls comb their hair
As time marches on
Girls loose their blush
and swap a comb for their brush
I make celebrities look stupid
As time passes
For those held high
their end is nigh
and normal people look like celebrities
As time catches up
Everyone is equal
when we get to the final sequel
I turn pancakes brown
As time turns
Without it we have flour and water
With it we have breakfast for my daughter
and make your champane bubble
As time revolves
How does one turn water and wine
into something so fine
If you sqeeze me, I`ll pop
As time runs out
The more in a minute you try and squeeze
the less you can do with ease.
If you look at me, you`ll pop
As time ticks
All the time that has past
man cannot comprehend something so vast.
it makes sense right? D:
Answer
^ Ooooh. Now that you post that poem with those lines above like that, it does make sense!
Answer
You're forgetting that part of the riddle is that kindergarteners could answer this almost immmedietly, whereas most ivy league students could not. In most versions they say that before giving you the riddle. I would think a Harvard student would guess 'time' before a five year old. A kindergartener would have the correct mindset, though, for a different answer.
I still believe the answer is 'no' (mostly because 'time' doesn't make sense unless with stretch of the imagination).
At the end they ask "Can you guess the riddle?"
... No. No I can't. That's the answer. The question was a yes or no question.
Simple.
Either that or the answer is "The World's Hardest Riddle."
"Can you guess the riddle?" "Yeah, it's the world's hardest riddle."
Also people tend to forget that a riddle is a play on words. In this case you're made to believe that there is some deffinite answer, one noun that makes sense. That's hardly a riddle, though. The riddle part is the fact that you hardly even realize that they're simply asking you a yes or no question at the end.

TT________TT Okay. Considering the kindergarteners part, it probably is no.
But if people wanted an answer to the riddle (not including the last question), then it`s time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) . Because after all that thinking, it`s disappointing to know the answer is just "no". What about the rest of the riddle? It`s not just random words placed there for the question.
Answer
