POLL - Favorite Domestic Carrier and why?

Question
..

Answer
From what I've read, breakage is much lower with USPS Priority Mail than any of the other carriers. I sent one item FedEx Express at the buyer's request; in the same type box that I had sent hundreds of the same type item by USPS Priority Mail. That item arrived broken. Any carrier that requires 4" of padding before they pay the insurance for broken items sends a light-bulb off in my brain.
Now, if I shipped non breakable items, I may have voted on another carrier if they were cheaper.

Answer
I voted USPS, because of Media Mail. That price break gives them such a huge advantage over the other carriers - that's probably why they keep it despite all the Media Mail abuse.

Answer
I voted FedEx. I ship 90% glassware. They have the cheapest rates. Do all my labels on line. Drop off at local store. Do what few claims I have had online and never had a problem usually paid in 7 days. I used UPS for a number of years but when they made online rates same as counter rates I switched.

Answer
For my items - USPS hands down. Especially for the Media Mail rates and the ease and cost of international shipping. Printing my own postage cuts a day off ship time easy. Media Mail arrives anywhere in the US in 5-7 workdays with very few exceptions.
For larger (heavier) items I use UPS with the home pickup.

Never tried FedEx for my eBaying, but I used to use them all the time when I was working Shipping/Receiving at a manufacturing plant. Especially for fragile items because FedEx's conveyor belt at the processing place was supposed to be closer to the ground. We used to say "FedEx doesn't drop them as far". <<< S&R Humor

Answer
I've had excellent service using USPS Priority Mail. Fast delivery, no breakage and only one lost in over 3000 packages. I print postage online and packages are picked up at my house - what more can you ask? Most of my packages are in the 1 to 2 pound range and for heavier items I love the new Flat Rate Priority box.
