Question
I've been using Endicia less than a month, and have a question about printing.
I'm using Avery 5168 (4 to a sheet) labels. Let's say I print one label, which is obviously the top one on the left.
So the next day I need to print one more label. Can I force it to use the top label on the right side? I can't believe that one is trashed!
I've looked and can't find anything about this. I found info on printing multiple addresses (I do miss ClickStamp's ease for this one), but can't find any way to utilize all labels on a sheet.
Hope I explained myself.
Answer
Hi Mel This is one I think I can actually handle -
When you click on Print, you get the Print menu pop-up window, and across the top of that, you'll see tabs. One says "Page setup"
Click on that and you'll see a selection that says "Starting Label" with choices under it for Columns and Rows.
When you want to use your 2nd label on the Avery 5168 sheet, select the Column number to 2.
(If you have more than 2 rows of labels on a sheet, you can adjust which row to print too.)
I use the Column 2 for those same labels all the time - I just have trouble remembering to set the column corrently before I print!! I'm always forgetting to do it before I hit the print button - and then I'm making a lunge for the printer to stop the sheet from feeding in, so I can change the Column setting and then re-set the paper to print.
Answer
Mine is automatic in Endicia.
I just have the "remember last position" box checked. You'll fine that on the Page Setup under the Print section. It's easy to setup.
Pretend like you are going to print a label; click Page Setup; and then check the box "Remember the Last Position." Click cancel if you're not printing postage.
Answer
Whoohooo! Thanks so much!
I do like their reprint feature, in the event of a paper jam or a brain cramp, which it sounds like you have on occasion with your row 2 printing issues.
Thanks again for the great explanation.

Elizdale -
Will checking that box make the printing alternate between column 1 and column two each time you print?
Answer
Yes it will. I also use Avery 5168 (4 to a sheet) labels and feed them in the printer manually. I just keep feeding the same page in the printer 4 times until I've used all four labels.
If I have a sheet that has only one label used, when I print another label the next day, the "remember" feature will remember to pick the 1st row, 2nd column, as if I hadn't stopped printing the labels the day before.
Answer
Hi there, elizdale, and thanks! That's even better - I had no idea it could be permanently set - Now I won't have to make those lunges for the printer anymore when I forget to change the setting!

Answer
So to print 6 different addresses on one sheet of labels in Endicia, you have to do them one at a time, reloading the sheet after each address is printed?
Pah.
Anyone know a good, inexpensive dedicated label printer to use with Endicia?

I don't think that's what is being said. May be wrong. I think what they are saying is that it remembers where you were on the page at last printing and picks up from there.

We've been using the Zebra LP2844 for some time. Buy rolls of labels in bulk and it'll start paying for itself in no time. (No toner or ink, plus thermal labels are less expensive.) We've been buying rolls, but are considering buying fan-fold labels for even more savings.
