Question
I never, ever, ever had a problem with the old version. The new one is a complete disaster for me. Every time I try to open the program I get the message "Another instance of Shipping Assistant is already running" which of course it isn't.
I removed the old shipping assistant program and I got the new one to work once. The next time I went to use 3.0 I got the dreaded message. I rebooted and was able to use 3.0 but I am not going to reboot every time I want to use it.
I do not like using the Paypal link for labels that already have postage on them because then my clerks will not scan the packages. They always scan if I use the SA labels without postage.
I guess I will try removing SA 3.0 and re-downloading.

Just curious if you hit the EXIT button when you are finished for the day or if you just minimize the page?
I've had some problems with the date if I don't close it completely every day....
Sometimes I just don't 'get' this new program... It just seems like some things are missing.... but I can't exactly put my finger on exactly what...

When you close the main page with the X then it leaves an Icon that keeps it active in the bottom toolbar. You can double-click on that to bring it back up or if you want to completely shut it down, do a right click on the toolbar icon and exit.

OK, I got it to open because I rebooted. I printed my label and hit the EXIT button. I did not get an icon in my toolbar. So I reopened the program and it did open OK this time. I hope it continues to work OK. It seems so darn slow to me compared to the old program. Very cumbersome. Thanks for your help!!!

It's definitely SLOW as molasses to load. So my 'rule' so far is to leave it open or minimized for the day's labels and then close it completely with exit.
The part I really hate is that you are totally unable to find out what the error is when an address is incorrect for some reason. And it takes SO LONG to get the 'message' that it's not going to work...

If you click on "exit" it should close the whole thing but if you just click on the "X" up in the right hand corner that is when it puts the icon in the lower right toolbar and actually stays open. The next time you go to use it then you get that "application already opened" message. So since the "exit" is so close to that "x" it's possible that the "x" got clicked one time instead of the exit and the program was left open. Glad it seems to be working for you now.

I got the 3.0 downloaded on my computer and then could not finish the opening of it, the because I refuse to upgrade my computer from win98.
I just delated both the usps programs, the old one and the 3.0.
I just printed my first usps label through paypal. It worked good using my firefox browser. Now I get to see tomorrow if the post office will scan my DC's but probably not.
I'm happy I have a .14 DC though

From SA3 "HELP": (I haven't tried it so can't verify it works)
Change sender information Click Edit Sender Address. In Address Book:
1. Edit sender address, or select new sender address.
2. Click Use Selected Address in Label.
Use recipient address from Address Book
In To: Recipient Information section:
1. Click Get From Address Book button.
2. In Address Book, locate and highlight address, then click Use Selected Address in Label button.
Add recipient address to Address Book In To: Recipient Information section:
1. Fill in recipient address and optional phone number, e-mail address and customer reference number.
2. Click Save to Address Book button.

That worked, but I'll add you have to recreate a name in that file, then use that one. I couldn't Edit it per se... Thanks.
