Originally Posted by www.imosh.com we've never cared about the noise the tape makes, but now its getting to be too much in our new building (we're all closer together) Generally, I figure that my tape screeching (not every day, never all day long, from 9am - 9pm) is no more annoying than the hyper dogs prancing on the hard-wood floors upstairs, random doorbell ringing by little kids, the kids that run up and down the stairways yelling and "shooting" each other, the kids yelling f*** out the windows, the smoke and fishy smells wafting through the doors, the other vehicles leaving dents and scrapes in the sides of our vehicles... (sounds like a nice neighborhood, huh?)... generally, I'd say we are still on the plus side of things... even if we have our occasional "moments"...
of course, if the others in your building are actually complaining... nevermind...
Although we have neighbors above and below, if we keep most of our NOISE away from the entry door, the sound does not travel down the hallway/stairway. Our walls, ceilings, and floors do not let much sound through. (Hardwood floor area is small... which is good and bad).
good luck finding a solution that works for you...

Answer
how about paper tape with adhesive that rolls over a sponge as you dispense ?
water activated kraft tape

Answer
when we take a package the tape also covers the lable so it has to be clear.

Answer
I feel your pain...
I've priced "natural rubber" tape for the very same reason... our shipping area is very close to our two offices with only a "half wall" in between. When you're on the phone and packing is going on, it can get quite disruptive.
So far we've just had to deal with it as the cost of that tape is prohibitive.
Wish there was an alternative...

Answer
I used to buy quiet tape by USPS from Wal-Mart, I haven't recently but I didn't remember that it was a whole lot more expensive than regular.

Answer
Are the rolls defects? Cheap, not round? That may be the problem. Have an adhesive applied to the box flap and stop using tape. Use labels that don't need tape over them. Sing Opera
