Hey all, i'm looking for a new postage scale, a digital one that works with endicia dazzle which connects vis usb or serial port...i'm having trouble finding one that is 25 or 50 pounds and not only automaticlly reads pounds but also ounces for some first class stuff i mail..any recommendations for me out there??

Answer
try OldWillknot. He's on ebay and also has his own website. I just bought a scale from him last week, it was cheap and it works great! He has all different "poundages."

Answer
Hi weaim2pleez,
I work for Endicia.
You can use just about any USB supported scale. Also there are some brands like Weightronix, Sunbeam, and Freightmaster that will work with a Serial port connection. You can search for "Scales" in our FAQ for more information on compatibility. We also have a couple Scales available in our Buy Stuff section.
Thanks,
Bodin

Answer
Hi Bodin, yeah I have checked that support section, I just seem to be having troulbe finding one that is about a 50 lb scale and that reads ounces for first class mail but also higher pounds for priority...i'll keep searching

Answer
I have a Royal RC40 digital scale that weighs OZ, KG and Pounds. From -1 oz to 40#. It has a serial port to attach to my computer but I use it a a stand-alone.
My postmaster recommended it, and it's been very accurate (I confirm weight with their scale every so often to check).

Answer
I saw those Royals 40 lb scales and thought they look like they may fit what I need, surely they are compatitable with endicia...any good place to buy those other than ebay?

Answer
I got mine at Costco for about $50 but that was a few years ago.

Answer
I love, love, love my RC40. It is soooo accurate, usually within 1/10 oz. I got mine several years ago at a great sale price at Sam's Club. Goes up to 40 lbs. Shortly after that they had another great sale on Royals that had a stand-along digital display that would take up to 100 lbs. I haven't looked recently to see what they have now.

Answer
loveofpast, do you have yours hooked up to your computer to automatically, sounds like i should go with one of these royal scales

Answer
No, I don't have it hooked up to the computer. When I first got it I downloaded all the input from the various shippers but have never used the information to calculate the postage amount. I truly only use it to get the weight of an item after it's packed and use the USPS site and Shipping Assistant 3 after that. I don't have it connected with any postage package. If you google "royal digital scale" you can find their site and they should have a lot more information about what can/can't be done with each model.
