Question
Hi
OK, maybe I have been printing too many labels today without a break. It doesn't take much to get me confused.
I noticed when I printed a packing slip:
paypal/details/transaction details/ Shipping & Handling via USPS Parcel Post
(includes any seller handling fees): $9.50 USD
I went to print a label and it states: Total Shipping and Handling Paid by Recipient: $8.55 USD
Why would the s&h be different? I noticed this several times today.
I tried to figure it out and I just don't see it. It's probably going to be something simple but I'm stumped.
Answer
Delivery confirmation?
I've just gone through listing hell--my pics weren't/aren't working--so I'm a bit bleary-eyed, too. But that's all I can think of right now.
Answer
MR, your pics are all showing just fine for me. Hopefully, whatever the problem was is fixed now.
Answer
I had not gone far enough for them to add the d/c.
Then I thought maybe it was the handling but that didn't add up either.
So I don't know. I just went ahead and printed the labels. It worked out in the long run.
The email notification is slow tonight. It may be Yahoo. I'm just now getting the you have printed a label notice.
I don't know how you all who ship a lot each day do it. I did 14 and I am popped.
Answer
Thanks, Joan. They aren't fixed--I stopped listing and fixed the ones for the listings I had already done. I've still got to re-upload about 35 pictures for other auctions. I'm too tired tonight. I work tomorrow, so will plan to list the other 20 or so items as 5 day auctions on Tuesday.
I still can't figure out why they didn't "take" on my web space.
Answer
Doobee, I don't know. I do know that PayPal was really slow with emails today. I paid for an auction this morning and didn't get email notification until this evening. (Worse than that, I haven't heard from the seller yet.)
Answer
MR, if the rumor is true about Tues being a 20¢ listing day it may turn out to be a good thing for you. I hope so anyway.
Answer
That would certainly help to ease my pain!!
Answer
dbd... sorry to drag up this older thread, but I had that happen last week and I just noticed your post today.
The labels do print correctly. Took me awhile to figure out what strange pp-math they were doing...
When you look at the details, it shows the correct s/h amount that the buyer was charged.
But while you are printing their shipping labels, there is one point where PP takes the total amount that the buyer PAYS, subtracts out the ending auction amount, AND then assumes that the balance of the transaction is there to cover the S/H. But before they quote you that s/h amount, they take out their fee%... and THAT is what is missing in what they display as THE S/H amount.
It's a strange thing for them to do, really. A new version of pp-math.
Check it out on your next shipment. The difference between what the quoted s/h amount and the amount that PP quotes as you are getting ready to print the shipping label IS the PP fee amount.
