Here I Sit, Waiting for FedEx

Question
I have a job early tomorrow where I have to leave home by 6:00 a.m. The client I am working for is shipping me something that I need for the meeting via FedEx and I have to sign for it. No matter that they have my signature on file, this particular package (because of the value) MUST be signed for. They sent me the tracking numbers last week and on Friday I saw that it arrived at the FedEx facility at 9:30 a.m. that day with delivery scheduled for today. I called FedEx and asked them to hold the package at the facility and I would pick it up today as I have to go right by there. My son also works in the office building directly across the street and he could pick it up for me as well.

FedEx will not hold anything unless it has been attempted for delivery at least once. WTF?

So I have had to rearrange my entire day's schedule to wait for FedEx to deliver. I have no idea what time it is scheduled for delivery, so I could be here a while cooling my jets. At least the FedEx website shows that it was loaded on the truck a little over an hour ago.

Answer
A watched pot never boils.
It's like waiting for a repair man - time drags on like you've got nothing better to do. Hopefully, you'll be one of FedEx's first deliveries!

Answer
FedEx just left and the driver told me that the package was guaranteed for delivery by 10:30. It's Noon. At least I should make my 2:30 appointment that is 45 miles away. The rest of my day is wasted.

I'm out the door NOW.
