Question
I can't make heads or tails of this:
http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/ra...6/coming-e.asp
When I click on Small Packet USA and Small Packet International, which is the services I use the most, it takes me to the current rate pages. Does that mean those rates are NOT going up? Or are the links messed up? And why wouldn't it just say "no changes"...
Thanks for any insight, I stopped listing the week of Christmas and just starting to list again so I haven't been to the post office to see if they have any new pamphlets yet with the new rates.
If it's the way it seems on the page above and it's just letters up to 30 grams, stamp prices, that are going up that would be so awesome.

Edited to ADD: You have to click on the "Shipping and Delivery" tab at the top to get to the services relevant to us.
Answer
Yes, all the rates are going up. For surface I believe up to 250 grams will be $4.40, up to 500 grams $6.50 and up to 1 kg. $9.90. Doing this from memory as the post office sent me the new rates but I don't have them handy. I think the parcels don't go up till some time in February though. It starts to eliminate some products for me as the shipping is becoming just too expensive. These are the small packet prices for the US. Everything else is going up too.

Thanks Jill... Then that page is just super-informative isn't it...
Good thing I knew better than to trust what's posted on their useless website... grrrr...
I usually ship small packet Airmail to USA and sometimes Internationally. Do you happen to have those rate increases handy? I guess I'm headed to the post office tomorrow...
And Yes, I know what you mean. I already absorb a little of the shipping cost if it's an item I know I will get a good price so I can compete with other sellers. I can't go any lower than I have been, if it goes up I'm not sure what I can do but raise my shipping rates and hope I don't lose bids. Though since USPS is raising rates, won't most seller's shipping charges go up along with ours anyway?
I usually don't use surface because I'm afraid the package will take to long to get to the buyer and I'll get buyer complaints.

I'm having a Duh! moment which may or may not be attributed to the cold medicine currently coursing through my veins.
Will this affect parcels sent from the USA to Canada?
Answer
Nope, you only have to worry about USPS rate increases...
