Question
Recently had 2 buyers -- one from UK, the other Germany... pay for store items and pay the media mail quotes, via paypal.
I have not had the problem before. I was under the impression Ebay checkout wouldn't allow international to complete checkout unless an amount was placed in the international shipping quote...
Has something about Ebay changed... has it always been this way... or, could I have messed my shipping settings up?
Answer
Any buyer can change the "shipping" cost and pay for an eBay item. You can change the shipping cost to whatever you like. I'm in Canada, and when I "BIN" from a U.S. seller that I've emailed ahead to get the shipping rate to Canada, I just BIN, click "Pay Now", change to what they quoted and done. It's really not a very good system because it leaves room for a lot of errors, on the other hand it's makes payment a lot faster in a lot of situations if you have buyers with common sense that either know the correct shipping charge or realize they have to get it before they know the correct amount to pay.

Answer
Umm... didn't realize that was possible, as I had set my selling preferences to NOT allow the buyer to edit payment totals.
Geez, I thought a sale total in console looked short the other day... hate to think, I'm going to have to start double-checking each sale!
