UPS and their professional affiliates

Question
My daughter bought a textbook on half.com that usually runs over $100. and had it shipped by express mail.
The book never arrived and we complained to half.com about item never received. The seller, whom STILL has 100% feedback could not find the tracking number.
Went into The UPS Store to pick up my mail (I've posted before about using a box there for security) and they handed me the EXPRESS MAIL package 25 days late! Their representative signed for the EXPRESS MAIL package in late August, according to the tracking, and then it languished in their store for almost a MONTH!
My daughter ended up paying full retail to get the book a day before her first test.
Folks, this is Darwin level incompetence! Timely package delivery is what UPS supposed to be ALL about!
I'm through. With other problems I have had, I will NEVER patronize ANY business associated with UPS ever again.
Fool me once........

Answer
Well...
I sympathize...
I don't much care for UPS, either... but it's mainly because 75% of what I receive through them looks like a squeeze-box in the "half-open" position.
Cheers

Answer
I provide UPS as an OPTION to my buyers, but personally I do not like UPS. They're not only overpriced, but when your package does arrive they either leave it in the RAIN, out in the open where ANYONE driving down the street can see it OR its so beat up you think it was through a meat grinder

Answer
UPS sucks a wiener.
I quit buying from one of my suppliers because they refused to use anybody else.
If my order consisted of 5 boxes I'd get 2 one day, 1 another day and they'd lose 2. I always got them eventually, after numerous phone calls and by leading the driver to my address by the nose. Every one of the boxes showed up looking like they'd been trampled by a team of horses. And, for that fabulous bit of service, I got to pay more than the other carriers charged.
I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.
