Bolding mine. They advertise this but often literally don't deliver. Try shipping a package via FedEx ground to the boondocks of Texas or the back side of a mountain in the Rockies.
Answer
I have been using FedEx for couple of years now and never had one address that couldn't be delivered to. Their customer service has been outstanding and all claims settled very fast. I use the online account and print my labels, take to local dropoff and it's that easy. I ship a lot of glassware and found FedEx to be the cheapest for packages 2 pounds and up. The USPS can keep their free boxes I'm looking for what's best for my customers.

Answer
I've used FedEx for about 3 years now. I've only had to file one claim, and I ship mostly breakables, glass and china type items. I, like Cobalt lady, have an account with them.
Now that they bought out Kinkos there are even more outlets to drop packages off at. There is a Kinkos/FedEx store in the same complex as my office, and they are open more hours then the regular FedEx counters. The shipping from there is the same as the shipping from the FedEx counter, no up charges. The also take my priority mail items (I use Endica/U-Pic for USPS) & give them to the postie when he delivers their mail. Nothing like one stop shipping
