Question
Welcome everyone -
Thank you for visiting our new forum. First of all we would like to thank Jim for his hard work in helping us get this off the ground! A big thank you to Endicia for agreeing to take the plunge with us and to you, the here community, for your continued insight, thoughts and suggestions you have given over the past 5 years.
For those of you who are not familiar with Endicia or U-PIC we thought we would take a moment and provide a basic history.
Endicia
Endicia is offered by Envelope Manager Software, a leader in desktop mail software with over 20 years experience in the postal industry. The company’s founders have supported essential elements of the U.S. Postal Servfice’s nationwide automation effort, and in 1989, they received the first annual U.S. Postal Service Quality Supplier Award. In 2004, Endicia received the USPS Industry Star Award at the National Postal Forum.
U-PIC Insurance
U-PIC Insurance has been offering parcel insurance for over 16 years. U-PIC is the only parcel insurance provider that has earned a Business Partner designation with the U.S. Postal Service. We offer domestic and international coverage for all major carriers, perishable coverage, inbound international coverage and late delivery coverage.
Our goal is to bring industry experts here for Q&A sessions as well as provide industry news and tips & tricks. We will have contests with prizes and other fun events so stop by often. Drop us a line if there is something you would like to see or learn and feel free to post or start a thread if you have some interesting or relevant information regarding Shipping/Packaging and/or Insurance!

Answer
I'm a little confused. (Don't worry this is perfectly normal for me.)
In the forum charter:
This is a sponsored forum and as such, posts by, or about, direct competitors of the sponsor(s) do not belong here and will be removed, or moved to the appropriate forum.
OK, I can understand why you (the sponsors) are saying this, but since the name of the forum is "Shipping, Packaging and Insurance" wouldn't this be the logical forum to discuss other providers? And if not, then which forum would be the "appropriate" one?

Deb, I'll answer this one... It would be the same forums that have been appropriate up until now..
Generally,
Auction Talk or Office Talk - for other specific venues or issues
Ebay Auction Help and Discussions - for ebay venue specific...
This forum is for general non-venue related info, or venue related, specific to the sponsors.

Answer
Thanks, Jim. Perhaps the name of the forum should be modified (or a disclaimer of some sort added), so that newcomers who might not know this would know that this forum is only for discussions pertaining to Endicia and U-PIC.
For example, "The Shipping/Packaging & Endicia/U-PIC Insurance Forum" or something like that.

Thanks Deb, Good Point..
I've changed the description a little and will work on some futher clarifications.

Answer
Hi Deb,
The intent here is to host this forum as a shipping/insurance/packaging forum. We welcome all posters. We simply request that direct competitors respect the sponsored aspect of this forum. Therefore; we reserve the right to move those posts.
This is not by any means a U-PIC / Endicia only forum. Except for one Q&A thread on both hosts all other threads will be generic. The experts we bring to the board will be experts in one of the fields listed. The contests, industry links etc. will also be generic.
Hopefully that makes a bit more sense. We are excited to be here and develop this forum. Any input is greatly appreciated.
Answer
Thanks! And just so I'm clear about this, if someone asks a question about you vs. stamps.com (just because a questions was already asked in another thread), and you/Endicia reply with a comment that you are better because yada-yada, a rep from stamps.com would be welcome to also come in and counter in their own defense? (Not trying to make trouble, actually trying to make sure everything is clear before trouble starts. )

To answer your question, yes, you are correct.
Answer
OK, thanks! I think you might want to modify your forum charter a bit to make that clearer.
And BTW, welcome as the first here forum sponsors!!
