Question
Argh - excel is doing my head in.
I need to type in the numbers 10 - 19 in a cell but every time I do it turns it into oct-19. I know something must be turned on that isn't meant to be but I'm not sure what.
can anyone help at all?
Answer
you right click, select "format cells"
select "text" instead of "date" ...using text allows you to enter whatever you type it as, including zeros before numbers...since they take out the zeros when you have it in number format
Answer
or you can put in a ' before the numbers which formats them as text but does not print. It's what I do as I don't like clicking more than I have to
Answer
yeah i got told about using ' too..... but i'm just used to clicking away~
Answer
