Does anyone own a GPS for their car? If so, do you find it useful?
I am interested in getting a portable GPS...I only recently got my driving license and am terrible at reading maps. So i'm thinking it could be a wise investment! Any opinions about them?

i think GPS' are great - especially if you're running late and don't have time to look up where you need to go. i don't have one by my boyfriend does in his car and it's never gotten us lost in the 2 years we've had it.
i'm thinking of getting one for myself but i might get one that is either integrated into a mobile phone or a PDA - it works out cheaper.

You can change the voices around, set it as homer simpson or arnie! Type the addy in and it'll direct you to go, even if you miss a turn it'll get you back on track!
I got a PDA phone and integrated the GPS into it. Although to do that you will need software and a bluetooth GPS receiver.

I got an iPaq 5965 and its been great. It has 2gb internal memory and 2gb memory card so I use it as a multimedia/GPS/PDA device. Well worth the money and a good option if you dont know if youd use it because of all its other features. It has tomtom installed and it does the job really well. Has all major shops and landmarks to make entering where you want to go easy. Comes with a car charger and cradle. I love it!
(much better than the mac Im on right now for one thing, I just retyped that 3 times due to random shut downs out of nowhere...)
