just got my pure white macbook yesterday

Question
looks supercool and i love the design... plus i got a $200 discount from the mac website, because i am a uni student.
But i am going to install windows xp on it, because alot of the software i want to install isnt compatible on a mac. Plus i am having trouble finding my way around a mac, because i am so use to using windows...

Answer
give it about a week and you'll be fine - it is hard to make the move at first but after a while you think "How did I put up with windoze for so long?"
Now you can have the best of both worlds with the software that you need to operate on xp!
welcome to the family! LOL

Answer

Answer
If you're having problems adjusting to the Mac try this to help you switch.
Unless you are using some very specialised software it's very unlikely you won't be able to find the same, or similar, applications for the Macintosh.

You can easily run Windows incl all programs on Macs now that they have Intel

But unless there is some real, unavoidable reason to you'd be best advised not to. The whole point is to get away from Windows, not take that piece of junk with you to the new (and better) world.

Answer
i would want to keep a mac os on it, but the only thing is that alot of the software that I have is for windows, and plus alot of specific software that i may use in the future are mainly for windows only...
man, what a mission it was trying to install windows on it. I stayed up until 4:30am last night, until i gave up. Finally today i got it to work... im only hoping that it just runs smoothly from now without bugs etc.. I've already noticed a few faults even after I installed the mac drivers, such as the sound quality etc... will see what the future brings

If so much of the software you need/want to run is Windows only why did you buy a Mac? If you are about to say "because they look so cool" (or words to that effect) go and hang your head in shame young lady! Buying a Mac is pointless (and quite expensive) if you're going to spend most of your time in Windows. It's like buying a Ferrari to tow your trailer to the tip, or a pair of Manolos to match a Target handbag...
