Question
Has anybody got rid of a stereo to just replace it with speakers?
My stereo is now too big and i just want to get some Bose speakers where i can put with my ipod,and just load the songs from cd to ipod through the computer and i can keep the ipod and speakers to listen and keep in my room.

Thats exactly what I just did to get rid of my stereo. I just bought cheapo speakers from Target though whuile i save for the Bose ones. Its even got a remote, so really not bad for $70

If you want just speakers then I'd go for something other than bose - unless lack of features witha hefty price tag is what you are after! It was the top dog a few years ago - because it had no other competition, but there are other products out there as good and superior to bose for less money.
Some you may consider include: Apple's iPod Hi-Fi; Auidoengine's A5; iGroove HG; iM7 from Altec Lansing and the AudioStation from Logitech.
